Week 17

Week 17
I’m trying a new format for my blog this week J
Frustrations:
Saturday – If we go to a friend’s house, or have company over Isaac REFUSES to sleep, so he gets cranky and tired and cries a lot, so Saturday night we were over at our friend Jeff’s hanging out and playing video games and Isaac was pretty much pissed the whole time.
Sunday – He was so tired from the night before, but he refused to sleep again, so he was grouchy all day. It didn’t help that one of his poopy diapers that day was a little solid and he got a little bit of a diaper rash. Poor kid, talk about a bad day.
Monday – Grouchy again, I wonder why, LOL.
Tuesday – He finally took two nice naps and was doing better until I wanted to go to bed, then he didn’t want to sleep any more.
Wednesday – Nothing to report.
Thursday – Grouchy. Shots are evil I bet he is saying.
Friday – Didn’t sleep again, when is it going to end, I’m exhausted and so is he.
Accomplishments:
Saturday – He slept thru a huge storm of tons of rain, lightning, thunder, and wind. I was shocked, I was waiting for the Thunder to scare him pretty bad, but nope – he went to sleep when it was sunny and by the time he woke up it was sunny again.
Sunday – 3 poopy diapers… 3!!!! I think giving him some more solid foods is making his metabolism work a little faster, I know he doesn’t like the poopy diapers and I don’t like cleaning them up, but at least it’s getting a little closer to normal. Even though he was grouchy most of the day, right before dinner time I had him sitting on my lap laughing like there’s no tomorrow! He was laughing so hard it was cute.
Monday – A fun trip to Albertson’s proved someone can have fun grocery shopping, being strapped to daddy for an hour in his little backpack carrier thing and dangling in complete cuteness he had a blast, even though daddy’s back didn’t. Since it was a week ago that I started giving him rice cereal in a bowl, and now he’s got this cool new High Chair, I thought it was time to let him try something new, CARROTS! I mixed a little in his rice cereal [I’d say about half a teaspoon to 2 ounces of formula based rice cereal], he loved it. Felix wanted to join in the fun too and ended up making Isaac’s meal time so joyful that he started spitting food everywhere because he was trying to talk with his mouthful, what happened? He spit baby food all over of course, missing me [hurray] but hitting the cat dead on about 3 or 4 times. He thought it was absolutely hilarious, and all the cat could do is sit there and stare at him in amazement probably thinking why this tiny human is spitting this nasty shit at me. LOL. Do I dare mention that he had 2 more poopy diapers today? Yeah, I was surprised too.
Tuesday – Since he spent the last 3 days BARELY sleeping, his nap times have been long and so far no bad reactions to the carrots, no allergy so far, time to add more to the cereal!
Wednesday – I added more carrot baby food to his rice cereal and he seems to like and no allergic reactions. He slept good and got to spend some quality time with both Grandma’s and Daddy.
Thursday – Doctors appointment went good, he now weighs in at 15 pounds 13 ounces and is 23 inches long. I told the doctor the truth about how much formula Isaac is drinking and he didn’t say one thing to me. Said everything looks healthy. HURRAY!
Friday – Chris sat down and played with him for longer then five minutes [usually Isaac gets upset lol].
All about me:
If you’re interested in more than just my Mommy stuff I have a different blog dedicated to all my randomness. If you’re interested go check it out! www.myrandomnessblogzors.blogspot.com plus I have all my mommy blogs over there too www.themommyblogzors.blogspot.com . I’m a little behind on getting the Mommy blogs up – since they aren’t saved on my laptop and I’ve honestly been too lazy to turn my desktop on. But my randomness blog so far a posting every day, this weeks full of interesting stories of my life… Well in my opinion they are. Hehe. Seriously, go check them out, leave some comments!

So all in all its been a rollercoaster week, I can’t believe Isaac is now 17 weeks old. I have some cute pictures I am going to post this week of Isaacs adventures. But he’s getting so big so fast!
I came up with this.. Isaacs 10 rules to make parenting difficult [will apply to most babies J ]
1. If I am taking a nap, and you want to take a nap its not going to happen. Why? Because I will wake up right when you start to fall asleep.2. I'm allowed to eat when ever I want, I cry you feed me. You on the other hand, go ahead and try to enjoy that sandwich you just worked so hard to make, because half way through it I will wake up and you won't be allowed to finish it.3. Homework to do? Your funny! I don't feel like napping today.4. Cleaning to do? Again you are just too funny, I still don't feel like napping today.5. I will always scream and cry through your favorite T.V. show.6. You have a friend over! Awe I'm going to be so cute make you think I'm going to take a nap, everything's quiet, he/she is comfortable on the couch, then BAM I'm not tired any more. In fact, my tummy hurts so I'm going to spit up all over you and then cry until your friend isn't comfortable any more.7. You go to a friend's house and take me... I won't sleep.8. I like making urine art on the wall9. You and Daddy are absolutely forbidden to have dinner together.10. Look at me, I am finally down for a nap, I'm cute and I'm quiet... GO ahead sniff that air..You are not going to like what I just made for you in my diaper.

Week 16

Week 16

Frustrations: Like last week, Isaacs teething… My Dad said he felt a second tooth [I cannot find it, but it would not surprise me one bit]. This teething phase is hell! The orajel works, but not for long and I can’t give it to him any more then 2-3 times a day, but alas by the end of the week he has either gotten used to the pain or hes not in pain any more. Who knows.

Accomplishments: He’s back to liking his bath, after the baby oil accident last week lol and thanks to the baby oil his cradle cap is slowly disappearing, I just have to make sure to bathe the kid every day and put the oil on his head every day or the cradle cap starts to come back. Its so disgusting! Monday I started giving him spoonfuls of real rice cereal [instead of putting a tiny bit in his bottle], by Tuesday morning you can see that its starting to work, I just have to make sure to keep giving him water so that he doesn’t get constipated, he’s had enough potty problems as it is, and I really don’t want to make it worse. But yes, by Tuesday morning it was starting to work. Isaac wakes up at 8am, I automatically take him in to his walker [that’s where I have been feeding him since we never got a high chair >.< ] and gave him about 5 – 6 half spoons of the rice cereal, he didn’t want his bottle until an hour later, which Monday evening after I gave him the rice cereal he wanted his bottle right away. Another wonderful thing about giving him rice cereal is he seems to have stopped spitting up so much, maybe he just needed something more solid in his tummy? Who knows, the week went pretty well, didn’t start out good but it got better!

Related news: Isaac goes in for his 4 month check up on the 6th of September. More shots, ugh, but I need to talk to the doctor about the spitting up [if it comes back] and of course about giving Isaac more solid foods.

Me: I have decided that I can’t watch Celicity, shes just too much of a handful when Isaac has pretty much decided that he wants 100 percent of my attention. Kris seems a little bummed and I wish I could help him more, but I can’t have a screaming 3 yr old and a screaming 4 month old for 8 hours straight. It doesn’t help that I’m still going to school just online, which in the long run means more school work, just less money and less driving. I have projects that need to be done that I started before I was pregnant… Yeah that’s bad! Its been busy, so all of you who I have neglected to call or talk to, please bare along with me, my life is a little busy right now! Have a good one!

Week 15

Frustrations: Where do i start? Its been a long and hard week. Isaac has his first tooth actually popping out this week and the poor guys been sick on and off. Been really fussy. Plus I know he's growing like a weed but I still worry about how much he spits up. Not only can I not wear the same outfit for no longer then two or three hours, but it just seems like he spits up too much. Plus he gets hungry after an hour and a half, but he can't eat any more then three ounces at a time. It just worries me. One day this week I was super klutzy and ended up squirting a little bit of baby oil in his eye [I've been using it to treat his cradle cap - which is going away!!!] while bathing him and now hes iffy of bath time when just a few days before he couldnt wait to get into the water. So pretty much we have to start the process all over again about bath time and him having fun. Makes me feel so bad.
Accomplishments: Of course his first tooth is coming in! :) He's been practicing all those cute sounds he's making. This week has been hard for him so he really hasn't learned many new things. He's been trying so hard to walk and crawl.
Finals are here, and I'm stressed. LOL. I think not having to drive to school any more will help out a lot. I am for sure doing the online courses all the way. It will be a lot easier on everyone.

Week 14

WK 14
Frustrations: CRADLE CAP. All of a sudden Isaac got a nasty case of cradle cap. It’s so disgusting and nothing I seem to do is making it any better. I read some ways of possibly treating it online [like using special shampoos or baby oil] but oddly enough Wal Mart doesn’t even carry baby oil any more. How lame is that. So now I have to eventually scour every damn store out here to find either the shampoo or the baby oil. One site said I could use Olive Oil, but honestly now, I think baby oil is a lot cheaper to use. LOL.

Accomplishments: Real laughs. I heard a real laugh this week, its oh so cute. His ‘talking’ is getting better too, a lot more different sounds are coming out of his mouth now. He’s learning how to sit up this week, he things its so funny when he falls forward too. SO CUTE! He’s also learned to control his hands and arms better and has figured out how to reach out and grab things along with keeping things in his hands better

ME: J With me cleaning, and the promise to baby sit Celicity and my Mom hurting herself for the second time while watching Isaac I am going to be switching to the strictly online business course at ITT so that things are a little easier on everyone. Plus I borrowed some study books on real estate from Chris’s mom and if I think I am up to it by the end of the year or beginning of next, I might go in and test to be a real estate agent. Other then that, things are still super busy. If I don’t get these posted right away in the next few weeks, don’t fret, they will come. I’m just doing a lot of projects and studying.

Week 13

WK 13
Frustration: Oh man… Got Isaac circumcised this week, FINALLY… Stupid doctors, and let me tell you I’m glad its over. This week was like going back to week one again with a lot of crying and waking up every 2 hours. By the end of this week though, it started to go back to normal. The kid is a tough one, he did so well.

Accomplishments: Other then surviving his circumcision, nothing really new for this week. He’s just been practicing all the stuff he has learned how to do in the last few weeks. The doctor gave me the okay to bathe Isaac every day now and honestly it really helps him get to sleep at night.

Week 12

WK 12
Frustrations: NOTHING!

Accomplishments: Oh the joys of having a good week! Sleeping through the night [well mostly], giggling more every day… well just learning new things every day! My friend Katie and her Mom this week bought Isaac a cool new toy, called and ExcerSaucer. HE LOVES IT. I know you really aren’t supposed to be putting babies in there under the age of 4 months, but since he is so big I said hey why not. Good thing too, that kid will sit in there long enough for me to eat and get a FEW things done around that house!

Me on the other hand, its getting close to the end of the school quarter which makes things really busy for me, plus with me cleaning Katie’s Mom’s house 3 days a week.

week 11

A lot has gone on this week. I’m exhausted!

Frustrations:
Had issues a few days this week getting him to sleep at night, at a reasonable hour.
I upped his ounces of formula to 3 but he’s still getting hungry every hour and a half, I’m not supposed to feed him no less then 2 hours, I can’t up it any more and sometimes he does last the 2 hours, but the doctor said to not give him too much, certainly since his little stomach isn’t that big and I don’t want him spitting up all the time, he finally slowed down on that a little. LOL. A little.
Had one night this week where he HAD to sleep with me.

Accomplishments:
He’s discovered his feet!
He’s making different noises now, more vowel sounds then utter gibberish, and one of them sounds like he’s saying yeah. SO CUTE!
Giving him water has helped out a lot, I know he doesn’t like having poopy diapers, but I think it’s so bad to not have a freaking bowel movement in 5 days! So giving him 8 ounces of water a day has gotten him a bowel movement every other day instead of every 5 days, so hopefully it will get even better.
He can play for up to an hour and a half before getting tired.
He’s been sleeping longer at night, instead of sleeping 5-6 hours, then waking up every 2 hours after that, its been pretty consistent with him waking between 2 and 3 am then not waking until 7 or 8 am unless I have to wake him up to take him to my Moms. This is letting me sleep in a little more and it’s making me more and more patient.
Chris bought this cool sling called the Over The Shoulder Baby Holder back when Isaac was a month old but not only could we never figure out how to use it, but Isaac hated the thing, well we finally got it working and Isaac to tolerate it for a little while. I think once the weather cools off and it’s not a freaking furnace in the sling he will like it more.
He likes watching T.V.
He likes looking at pictures from magazines. So far he has taken an interest in babies and Scooby, and a dislike to the Aflack duck LOL.

In other related news:
I think its time for him to start getting used to sleeping with out the help of his swing. For now I am going to see if he will nap during the day with out his swing, probably put him on my bed for now, so that when he sleeps I can be near by. Then eventually I am going to get that baby monitor working and see if he will sleep in his crib during nap time. If this is accomplished pretty easily not only am I going to thank God for it but I am going to eventually try and see if maybe, just maybe, he will sleep in his crib with out the help of the swing at night! One step at a time!
After this is accomplished, hopefully by 4 months, I am going to start to try and get him to not wake up for a midnight snack; I know that one will take a long time. But I have been talking to other mothers, and been reading some tips on how to do it. So just maybe by 6 months he’s in his own bed and sleeping all night long. With him being almost 3 months now, that leaves 3 months to accomplish all this. Sounds fair to me!
I finally got him scheduled to get circumcised. I’m still a little nervous about it though, I know its going to hurt him, but I think it’s going to be for the best. I’m hoping Chris can go with me; I don’t want to go alone!
I’ve been reading to Isaac on and off [pretty much when I feel like it] but we’re on our second book now, I want to make sure he gets a good early start on liking Fantasy novels so the first one I read to him was about dragons and now with the final Harry Potter book in my possession this coming weekend I’m going to read all 7 of those to him [also gives me a chance to remember what was going on once I get to the last book!]. Of course, I am skipping the bad words [they say damn a few times if I remember right] and probably going to silently read some of the more violent stuff, like the fights! I have some really cool young adult fantasy books I am planning on reading him, and then maybe I guess I will get to those trillion baby books I got in the closet!

ME:
I found a website: www.sittercity.com that you put in all these applications and resumes for babysitting jobs in your area. Just in case watching Celicity falls through. No hits yet, but there seems to be a lot of people looking for babysitters on here. You can even sign up for pet sitting as well. Hopefully I get a couple jobs to get some extra cash in my pocket to pay off my credit card, some bills, or something. So if you know any one who needs a baby sitter, or likes to baby sit, it’s a wonderful site.
In the mean time I will be helping my friend Katie’s mom with some house cleaning, with her Mom having a shoulder injury and just out of surgery she can’t do much, and I don’t think her Dad can either. A little extra cash won’t hurt right now!

So yes, it’s been a long exciting week with new discoveries and challenges!

Week 10

Another week has gone by!

Not much to say on frustrations, Isaacs been a bit fussy, but nothing new on that! Pretty much with his weight and size I have hurt my back from carrying him in his carrier so starting next week the car seat stays in the car unless Chris is around to carry him, because it just hurts my back way too much.

Accomplishments: Nothing new here really either. He's getting used to his bath times which is a real relief, he seems to have moments where its like 'omg so much water' and then he's off giggling once I mention to him that he's a nakkie baby. LOL. He's been getting in a lot of practice in smiling, giggling, and all those cute baby gurgles. He's found a new toy that he likes, some plastic keys – he likes throwing them at me, haha. It seems that he's getting better eye sight now too, if I'm sitting in my rocking chair playing with him and Chris is in the kitchen he'll watch him and smile at him, plus he discovered the cat – now that is going to be some fun! Those two are such great buddies and Isaac doesn't seem to be allergic to him either, which is a huge relief. That kid is getting so big!

Well my application to watch Celicity is almost done, I just got the test results back from the stupid TB test they make you do, and oh gee look I don't have TB – shit I could have told them that. LOL. Oh well, a week later and 40 bucks gone. While I was there I got weighed and realized that my weight loss has slowed a lot, lost one pound in about oh a month and a half… yikes all those soda and sweet indulges is catching up to me. What I really need is a good exercise plan, which is too funny to think about with an infant and sometimes a 2 year old around. Oh well, I'm not too worried about it, its not like I'm 200 pounds, I'm only 5-6 pounds over what I was planning on getting down to. NOT BAD! Tehehe. But, hopefully I get approved to watch Celicity [since its all going through some company] because my account is running low and will be in big trouble soon if nothing happens. It makes me a little worry some at times, looking at how many bills I promised I would start paying… Where's the money going to come from? So yeah, that's about it in this crazy life of mine. School is going good, I mean I hate the drive, of course, but 2 days a week I'm carpooling with my brother and some Wednesdays I'm carpooling with another classmate so it's not like I'm all alone a lot. So yeah, next week. J Probably not the same time, and definitely not the same place!!! HAHA!

week 9

Frustrations: Nothing again to report this week, he's doing so much better!
Accomplishments: Still going strong with those smiles, laughs, and squeals. He discovered his nose, ears and tongue more this week, caught him with his finger up his nose once, he pulls on his ears [rarely], and he sticks his tongue out all the time now. He got his shots this week and survived, but he wasn't happy about it. Found out that he isn't scared of M80's going off or any type of firework.

week 8

Frustrations: Nothing really to complain about this week, he’s still a little fussy, still has some potty issues [doesn’t go poopoo a lot]. I still don’t know if that’s a tooth growing in or not, hopefully I will find out next week.

Accomplishments: So as he nears being 2 months old he is now starting to learn a lot of new things! He has learned to make a clicking noise with his tongue, pick his nose [very rarely], stick his tongue out randomly, and instead of playing and giggling for only ten to fifteen minutes before getting upset, he is now lasting as long as thirty! He can pretty much hold his head up by himself if he’s held straight up or at a very slight angle and when he is on his tummy, but other then that he’s still a little wobbly with his head. He’s trying to crawl but can’t really manage to multi task quite yet, so, sometimes, its pull with arms… then later, push with legs. He gets so mad, but I figure with in the next few weeks to a month he’ll get it right. The best thing though is he’s sleeping more at night, and not with me as much. He’s still in the same room and refuses to sleep in the bassinet but by golly he loves that swing! I don’t let it swing all night, just until he falls asleep then it stops swinging and most nights he’ll sleep in there all night with only one feeding close to when Christopher gets up for work.

This week was a blessing compared to some, and its weeks like these that make me want to have more kids, tehehehehe. But that’s going to have to wait a few years!

week 7

Frustrations: I’m not too sure what’s up yet, Isaac sees the doctor soon so I can ask then. He’s been crying A LOT this week, but yet, he’s slept through the night. It threw me off big time, certainly when all of a sudden he’s been spitting up more and so , so , so fussy! I see a white bump on his gums, could just be a blister.. or he’s teething ALREADY. I thought he would be too young to teeth though, so I am completely confused and kind of worried.

Accomplishments: He can hold his head up pretty well by himself now, still a little shaky but doing a lot better and along with that he’s slowly learning how to hold himself up with his arms, that’s a big feat for him but he’s getting there. He can push himself around pretty well with his feet which is amusing to watch. Through all the fussiness there has been smiles and squeals of joy, which are getting bigger and louder! He loves the company of his Zebra… Need a name for him. Any suggestions? J

I’m doing better too, started swimming at a friends house this week so not only am I getting some good exercise but I am also getting a wonderful tan! I’ve been trying to get some pictures developed of Isaac so I can add more to his 1st year scrapbook but every time I go over to Crapmart [Walmart] the photo machines are broken some how, so if the next time I venture over there and they’re still down I’m ordering them online, I could care less if it costs more, at least I won’t have to worry about broken photo machines. The second week of watching Celicity was a lot better, she’s starting to get used to the fact that she has to be with me two days a week and not with her Gramma or Daddy so getting her to nap, eat, and settle down to watch a movie or “Boos Coos” [Blues Clues]. It definitely is giving me experience to handle an infant and a toddler when its time for to want another baby – haha.

week 6

Frustrations: Not much new on this front, had one tough night this week and thank goodness it was a night Christopher could help out. Isaac decided to fidget and cry during his middle of the night feeding and it took us both about two hours to calm him down and get him to sleep.
Accomplishments: We all survived the first week of me going back to school, him being with his Gramma Dorie for a long period of time with out me there and me being able to part from him for a long period of time. Isaac discovered a toy this week, a little vibrating Zebra, he loves that thing to death! He sleeps with it in his swing and his carseat, and he giggles when he hears it rattle and vibrate. So cute! His giggles and smiles are getting better, he squealed with joy so loud once this week that he scared himself into crying for an hour. Poor thing. LOL.
Not much else, been a quiet week. I started watching Celicity this week, she seems to love Isaac as much as everyone else. She worried when he cries and can’t help but laugh uncontrollably when he giggles at her kisses.

Week 5

Frustrations: (#1) Even though Isaac is getting better at sleeping and not crying for hours straight, we still had one MAJOR slip up this week when it came to that. He just would not stop crying for hours and hours. Even driving him around in the car only subdued him for a little while. That was a really hard night, but alas, he did fall asleep eventually. (#2) Now that’s he is a little over a month old, he is starting to be more alert and awake during the day, which is really hard on me since I can’t do much. He wants to be held constantly which has left paperwork undone, and the apartment a complete disaster. (#3) I upped his formula to 2 ½ ounces every oh 2 hours.. and sometimes he’s hungry by 1 ½ hours.. after his doctor told me no more then two just a few weeks ago, but if I just give Isaac 2 ounces he’s crying for more with in an hour. I always worry that he’s going to get fat… but I don’t know.. >.<
Accomplishments: (#1) Smiles… Real happy smiles have come along. (#2) Along with those cute toothless smiles that isn’t gas have come giggles, happy squeals, and happy coos that just tickle him pink and makes me and every one else smile until our face hurts. (#3) He is getting really good at holding his head up by himself, which means less worry for me on making sure I hold his head up EVERY time I hold him.
He’s learning new things all the time, discovering new things to do, see, hear, taste even. I had eaten French Fries for dinner one night this last week and forgot to wash my hands afterwards and sometimes he likes sucking on my fingers, so he got a really good salty French fry taste off of that finger he was sucking on. The first look was complete shock then a cute lil’ smile probably saying ‘mmm, something other then formula!’ tehehe

Week 4!!!

Ooookay! Week number 4 was a lot less stressful!
Frustrations: (#1) Isaac didn’t really keep me or Christopher up at night this week, one night he woke up more then normal but eventually he went back to sleep. (#2) He refuses to sleep in the basinet, the crib for only a little bit, but the swing… he could stay in there all day if I let him. What’s going to happen when he can’t sleep with Mommy any more? (#3) I can’t take any online courses at school… So I had to ask my Mom to baby-sit 3 days a week L .
Accomplishments: (#1) Giggles!!! He can sort of laugh now, it’s so cute and he tries so hard and gets even happier! (#2) I believe he is starting to see better now, I think he’s looking at me LOL!! (#3) He’s getting better and better at holding himself up, getting his muscles up and working! Hurray!!!
Not too much of an exciting week but he’s doing really well and so are me and Christopher. Isaac hits his one month mark the 4th!

Week 3

This week wasn’t as stressful as last week…
Frustrations: (#1) Isaac only tried to keep me up once this week, and thanks to Christopher’s Mom, I got a full nights sleep. Lori offered to come over and help out one night this week, when Isaac was really bad. Poor little guy would not stop crying at all! (#2) The first two weeks of his life he slept the whole time in the car, now all of a sudden this week, he did nothing but cry every time I put him in the car. Hopefully its just a phase he’s going through this week and that maybe he will go back to sleeping next week. (#3) He fights so much during the day to take a nap, he cries and cries and cries until I play with him some more… I can’t get anything done, and I know that’s how it is with a new born, but even going to the bathroom is a challenge!
Accomplishments: (#1) His umbilical cord finally fell off this week, which means real baths for him! (#2) He’s really starting to hold his head up on his own, he’s so proud of himself that – guess what – he cries! (#3) He’s also getting the hang of holding the pacifier in his mouth on his own, so once its in, Mommy or Daddy can walk away for a while. Gives us about 5 minutes of freedom before it falls out of his mouth tehehe.
As for me, I’m feeling 100% better this week, but, I still can’t do much until after the 11th, when the doctor gives me the okay. No heavy lifting, no swimming. *sigh* That last one is the hardest, the weather out here has been so hot and being right by two nice cool shimmering pools… SUCKS!

Week 2

have now hit week two as a mother, and again there were new frustrations and new things to boast about as well!
Frustrations: (#1) Three nights this week, Isaac has not slept much at all, the first night I stayed out in the Living Room with him until about 4 am when Christopher was about to leave for work. I had a big scare that night when I had nodded off with Isaac in my arms while in my rocking chair, I had managed to jolt awake and both of us fall out of the chair. I hit my head pretty hard but no damage done to Isaac [thank goodness]. The second night Isaac seemed to have been a little restless,he did sleep all day as we were out shopping and he does nothing but sleep when he's put into the carseat. Then the third night his restlessness was back, and we spent the night on the couch. Christopher doesn't like the idea of us doing that but I don't want to keep him up on nights he has work. (#2) Crying, I know that infants cry a lot but Isaac has picked the worst time of the day to do nothing but cry. With Christopher just getting home from work, and me trying to cook dinner - he thinks its okay to cry and cry and cry. We end up not eating at the same time, one will hold Isaac while the other one eats. (#3) I can't clean the house.
The good times: (#1) Smiles - he is learning how to smile, and I know that it doesn't necissarily mean he's happy since infants can't really control much of their muscles and nerves, he could have gas for all I know. But he's got the cutest toothless smile ever and it just fills my heart when I see it! (#2) He's starting to learn how to hold himself up and hold his head up during tummy time and he gets so proud of himself! (#3) Christopher is such a wonderful father, he's been such a big helping hand. He can't do much on nights he has work the next day so I have to get up with Isaac every time, but whenChrsitopher gets home in the evenings he does a few feedings before bed and holds him while I cook dinner. The weekends is when he's a huge help! He gets up in the middle of the night to help feed or change diapers. I honestly wouldn't know what I would do if he wasn't around.
So theres week number two, all in all, a good week with a few tiring days and nights. But nothing I couldn't handle.

Week one of being a Mom

Week one isn't quite over yet, but I wanted to get something started while I had the chance. My Grandparents are heading out for the Mother's Day weekend and with my 4 day old son here, things are going to be hectic.
Frustrations: [#1] I had an episiotomy done and man-oh-man does it hurt to move, walk, sit, lay, ... everything. It's making the first week a little difficult due to my fiance Christopher [the Father] having to take more time off of work then expected. I'm just now starting to feel better, but its still hard. [#2] I needed to call and make the baby's first doctors appointment and now they are telling me he's not covered for some stupid reasons, and I made sure when I got this health insurance [because I got it while I was pregnant] that he was covered with out paperwork for the first month. He was then going to be switched to his Father's health insurance. Yeah well, now I am sitting next to the phone waiting for them to call me and let me know... But nothing yet. [#3] I really wanted to breast feed him but unfortunately the first few days of it showed that I don't provide enough for him, so he spent almost 24 hours with out one messy diaper - which means he wasn't eating. *sigh* The nurse gave me hell saying I just wasn't feeding enough but gave me some formula to take home just in case. Half way thru the first night home, he still had no dirty diapers and was upset constantly because he was hungry. Gave up, got some formula, he drank it all, by his next feeding time he had a full diaper. I think this was the most frustrating one out of all three, because now once I am out and about, people are going to give me a hard time for giving up so fast. But the way I see it, is he was going to end up back in doctors care because he was going to be constipated and dehydrated and malnurished because I wasn't giving him enough, and hey, the formula has been working good for days.
The fun stuff!: [#1] Watching him sleep is one of the most rewarding feelings right now to me, he's so cute and healthy and happy that I just can't believe it sometimes. [#2] Seeing him learn things so fast, he's already understood the idea of the pacifyer being something he has to hold himself, already trying to lift himself up while on his tummy, and one little whimper at night will get a nights sleep with Mommy. [#3] Just the whole feeling of Motherhood is something you can't even describe, but is one of the most wonderful feelings in the world. [#4] So far -so good no post partum depression!!!! I believe the 9th month of the pregnancy was my most unhappiest, I'm like floating on air most of the time now! :)
